Hydrogen Energy Key to Economic Prosperity, Say Experts

Patan: Stakeholders at a conference emphasized the potential of hydrogen energy to drive economic growth and prosperity. At the event titled "Discussion on the Commercialization of Hydrogen Energy in Nepal: Opportunities and Challenges," organized by the Nepal Energy Foundation, speakers discussed how Nepal could benefit economically by exporting hydrogen energy, addressing global demands for clean energy.

Dr. Ram Prasad Dhital, Chairperson of the Electricity Regulatory Commission, highlighted the opportunity for Nepal to capitalize on subsidized loans and grants in the clean energy sector. He urged effective implementation of the government's hydrogen policy and emphasized the importance of demonstrating Nepal's capacity to produce hydrogen energy.

Adhikari's Book on Micro Hydro Power Launched

On the same occasion, a new book by Krishna Adhikari, head of the feature section at Rastriya Samachar Samiti, was launched. The book, titled Laghu Jalabidhyut Ra Digo Sanchalanko Abhyas (Micro Hydropower and the Practice of Sustainable Operation), provides a detailed examination of Nepal's micro hydropower sector. The 132-page book, divided into three parts, covers topics such as the state of micro hydro projects, community-based approaches, and the potential for sustainable operation of these projects.
